Transcript Requests

Winthrop University offices are closed due to the COVID-19 virus. There will be a delay in processing printed paper transcripts. Current students and former students who attended Winthrop after August 1985 can request official electronic transcripts through Parchment. There is a $2.85 fee for each Parchment transcript. We apologize for the inconvenience.

A permanent record of each student's courses, credits, and grades earned is maintained in the Office of Records & Registration. Transcripts are provided upon written request of the student. Transcripts are withheld from those students and former students who have unpaid accounts with the University.


Students who have attended Winthrop since August 1985

Winthrop University students and former students who have attended since August 1985 can request official electronic or printed transcripts through Parchment. All first-time users will be required to set up an account with Parchment. During this process, you will need to validate your personal information as well as complete the Parchment Exchange Waiver and digitally sign the Terms of Agreement. Use of this service requires payment of $2.85 to Parchment Exchange at the time of the request. Due to records being archived, Parchment transcripts are not available to students and alumni who attended prior to August 1985.

Current students with Wingspan access

Current students with Wingspan access may request a printed official transcript through Wingspan (Student Tab, Student Records, Request Printed Transcript).  Transcripts requested through Wingspan will be available the next business day to be mailed or to be picked up in 126 Tillman for no fee.  If you would like us to mail your transcript, please be sure to include the entire address in the Wingspan form.


Former students who attended Winthrop prior to August 1985

Former students who attended Winthrop prior to August 1985 should contact Records and Registration at or (803) 323-2194 for a copy of the Transcript Request Form to request a printed transcript. Electronic transcripts are not available for students who attended prior to August 1985.

There is no fee for printed transcripts, except in the cases of:

  • same day = $10.00
  • faxed next day = $5.00
  • same day faxed = $15.00
  • same day overnight express = $20.00 domestic/$50.00 international

Payment information: For transcript requests with a fee, please go to the Winthrop Marketplace and select Transcripts/Diplomas, then Transcripts and the appropriate transcript type. Your transcript request will not be processed until you complete your payment. If you submit a request for no charge, you do not need to go to the Marketplace to pay. We will process your request when we receive the signed Transcript Request Form.


Unofficial Transcripts

Current students may access their unofficial transcript through Wingspan (Student Tab, Student Records, Unofficial Transcript).  Former students who do not have Wingspan access should follow the instructions above for an official transcript. Students with a transcript hold on their account will not be able to view their unofficial transcript on Wingspan until the hold is cleared.
