Winthrop University Foundation

A letter from the Winthrop University Foundation President Peter G. Moroni, II:

Friends, alumni and community:

I would personally like to welcome you to the Winthrop University Foundation website. As the newly appointed President of the Foundation's Board of Directors, I and the rest of our Board members, leadership and staff are proud to be associated with Winthrop University.

As we enter the 48th year of its existence, our 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation continues to thrive, due to the generous donations from many of you. This thriving though does not come without trials and tribulations as was witnessed this past year in 2020. I am proud to say that not only did the Winthrop University Foundation continue to grow its asset base through 2020, but that we also ended in a better position financially than we have in our recent history.

The financial health of our Foundation allows us as an organization to enter a period now titled "focused purposeful growth." Several initiatives that we as a Board have identified include reaching $100M in assets within the next 2 years; purposefully empowering diversity and alumni events; as well as, implementing innovative ways that the general public can partner with the Winthrop University Foundation.

I would be remiss if I did not mention to you the numerous giving societies and ways that you can be a part of our focused purposeful growth. I invite you to visit the University's giving page to learn more about these societies and how you can best support Winthrop University. The Foundation staff and University Advancement team would be happy to discuss these options with you.

Best regards,

Peter G. Moroni, II

WUF President 2021-2022

Mission Statement
